Yard management refers to the digital control and optimization of all processes on the factory grounds, including the delivery, temporary storage, and onward transport of goods and vehicles. It ensures transparency and efficient processes outside the actual warehouse.

For example, a yard management system manages truck arrivals, parking spaces, trailers, containers, and loading units on the premises. Through integration with transportation management, warehouse management, and ERP systems, incoming goods, order fulfillment, and loading processes can be better coordinated. Automated data capture, real-time information, and intelligent planning reduce wait times, prevent bottlenecks, and improve the flow of materials between the yard and the warehouse.

Practical example:

A logistics center digitally records arriving trucks, automatically assigns an available parking space, and notifies the warehouse of the scheduled delivery.
