Just in time for LogiMAT, AKL-tec GmbH is launching the next generation of the APACHE DWS 520 Static and will be presenting it in Hall 4, Stand D50.The volume measuring and weighing system is predestined for use by courier, express and parcel services as well as in logistics centers. Two laser measuring heads record the volume and weight even of non-conveyable goods. Thanks to the possibility of individualization, the system is available in different sizes and, depending on the configuration, impresses with additional cameras and partial image blurring. As a result, only the object and not the employee is recognizable in the photos. Optionally, an extended master data acquisition with a 3D image processing program is possible, whereby, for example, stacking noses or stacking corners are recognized. “These are just a few of the advantages of the new DWS 520 Static. We are very pleased to explain further special features in personal discussions,” says Rüdiger Elben, Managing Director of AKL-tec GmbH. In addition, trade visitors can take a look at the APACHE portal first choice, a system for measuring the volume and weight of general cargo. It offers the advantage that it can be easily dismantled and reassembled at another location in just a few steps. Here, too, two laser measuring heads within the measuring zone detect the object, whereupon length, width, height, weight and a photo are transmitted to the customer database. Due to conformity with the European Measuring Instruments Directive MID (colloquially known as “calibration”), the measurement data can be used in a legally relevant manner and can be used for billing purposes. As a further exhibit, AKL-tec will show the CubiScan 325, which was developed for master data acquisition and the determination of packaging sizes in retail and wholesale. A 20 megapixel camera is available as an add-on, so that irregularly shaped as well as cubic objects between 2g and 25kg can be documented accurately. Not physically at the booth, but via a video wall, the redtagger series for automated shipment document handling will be presented. Redtagger presents solutions for inserting documents into cardboard boxes, applying labels and shipping documents, and other related processes. The T-200 is a print dispenser that enables labeling on all sides of the product. The T-300 document insertion system starts automatically, slides invoices and returns slips, among other things, into the shipping carton, and labels and marks all shipping items for incoming and outgoing goods. The modular product range is rounded off with the T-400 delivery  document bag attaching solution and T-500 special applicators for documents and labels. The principle of “redefining document handling” pursued during the design and development of the product range has been comprehensively taken into account in all modules. For example, documents to be inserted or attached are reduced to DIN A5 or DIN A6 by a folding unit specially designed and optimized for AKL-tec’s application. All systems support advanced functions for validating the inserted papers. This ensures that the document matching the product always finds its way to the customer. From now on, incorrect deliveries or faulty delivery bills are a thing of the past.
