With the APACHE DWS Static, AKL-tec has launched a new generation of the APACHE volume measurement and weighing system, which is suitable for use by courier, express and parcel services as well as in logistics centers. The combination of measuring and weighing objects of any shape is suitable for both master data collection and freight measurement. Two laser measuring heads record the volume and a scale records the weight of conveyable and non-conveyable goods, with an additional automated photo being taken after successful measurement. Depending on the configuration, additional cameras are available, thanks to which it is possible to work with partial blurring. Thanks to the so-called cropping feature, the DWS Static is able to crop the generated images from the measured object, so that only the measured object is visible, with the edge not being blurred. In parallel, the employee is not recognizable. In addition, the system is equipped with a hand-held barcode scanner. The transfer of the determined values together with the photo to the customer database takes place automatically through defined interfaces. “The APACHE DWS Static will soon be type-tested in accordance with the European Measuring Instruments Directive (MID) and will then be approved for use in legally relevant business transactions, i.e. for billing purposes. Another advantage is that it can be individually expanded thanks to a modular design. In parallel, there are different standard measuring surfaces, so that we can offer the optimal system for every field of application,” explains Rüdiger Elben, Managing Director of AKL-tec GmbH. Optionally, the device for master data acquisition and freight measurement convinces with a 3D image processing program, which provides extended geometric master data. This not only includes information on length, width, height and weight, but also allows conclusions to be drawn about stackability, conveyability and condition, and provides information on contours and corners.
