Since July Thorsten Zilles is part of our team and supports AKL-tec in the area of sales and marketing.
After (and with) his training as a businessman for forwarding and logistics services, he gained more than ten years of professional experience in the field of worldwide forwarding and logistics for sea, air and truck transports in the segments standard, but alsoproject/OOG & charter logistics.
But if you live logistics, you want more – so Thorsten has also completed part-time training to become a bachelor professional in freight transport and logistics in order to be able to provide his customers with the best possible expert advice and support.
Since July 2022 he is now part of our team in the area of marketing and sales and supports our customers with his experience and expertise.
On his motivation, he tells us:
“Logistics is an incredibly versatile and exciting field of activity, that’s what makes it so attractive and that’s why I’m “burning” for it – first in the freight forwarding industry itself and now at AKL-tec as a provider of highly specialized logistics solutions for intralogistics. I know the problems that exist due to inaccurate goods data. Especially in the air freight sector, this is a major issue with regard to invoicing and loadability. But also in sea and truck transport, centimeters can decide whether a good can be loaded by container or (box) truck – or not. With my experience, I would like to enable our customers to get the best out of it and drive forward the networking of shippers and forwarding agents. There is so much potential here!”

As a sideline, Thorsten teaches junior bachelor professionals at the vocational training center in Siegen and works on his own home in his spare time.
