Warehouse technology

Warehouse technology refers to the equipment, systems, and technical solutions used for storing, handling, transporting, and managing goods within a warehouse. It includes both manual and automated technologies designed to improve efficiency, safety, and the use of available storage space.
In modern logistics, warehouse technology includes shelving systems, conveyor systems, industrial trucks, stacker cranes, automated storage and retrieval systems, and measurement technology. The integration of sensors, software, and automated data capture enables precise inventory management, optimized material flows, and reliable warehouse operations.

Practical example:
In a modern distribution center, conveyor systems transport pallets to an automated storage area. Before storage, a measurement system captures their dimensions and checks their contours. The recorded data helps ensure that pallets meet the requirements of the storage system and can be safely handled by stacker cranes.
