Automatic sorting system
An automatic sorting system is a technical solution that identifies, classifies, and directs goods or items to predefined destinations without manual intervention. Sorting can be based on criteria such as dimensions, weight, barcode information, destination, product type, or other captured data.
In logistics, automatic sorting systems help increase throughput, reduce manual handling, and improve process efficiency. Reliable data capture and system integration are essential to ensure that goods are identified correctly and assigned to the appropriate sorting destination.
Practical example:
In a distribution center, parcels are automatically identified and measured as they move through the system. Based on the captured data and destination information, the sorting system directs each parcel to the appropriate shipping or processing area.
