Sensors

Sensors are technical components that detect physical properties or changes in their environment and convert them into signals that can be processed digitally. Depending on the application, they can capture characteristics such as distance, position, shape, dimensions, weight, temperature, or movement.

In logistics, sensors form an important basis for automated measurement and data capture. They enable objects, packages, and pallets to be detected and measured reliably and provide data for control, monitoring, and optimization of logistics processes.

Practical example:
In a DWS system, sensors detect the dimensions and position of a package as it passes through the measuring area. The captured information is processed digitally and can be transferred to higher-level logistics or IT systems.
