Scales

Scales are measuring instruments used to determine the weight of objects or goods. Depending on the application, they can be used as stand-alone devices or integrated into automated measuring and logistics systems.

In logistics, scales provide reliable weight data for master data maintenance, freight calculation, load control, and shipping processes. In combination with dimensioning systems, they enable dimensions and weight to be captured in a single process and transferred digitally to higher-level systems.

Practical example:
In a DWS system, a scale determines the weight of a package or pallet while its dimensions are recorded simultaneously. The captured data can then be transferred to an ERP, WMS, or shipping system for further processing.
