Optimization begins with measurement technology: Valid data for AI use in logistics

AKL-tec GmbH, based in Alsdorf/Sieg, will be exhibiting at LogiMAT from March 24 to 26, 2026. In Hall 4, Booth 4C12, the company, which specializes in automated freight measurement and intelligent logistics solutions, will be presenting, among other things, a system for automatic pallet inspection.

The focus of the trade fair presentation will be on automated pallet inspection. AKL-tec will demonstrate how modern image processing systems and AI-supported analysis methods can help to reliably identify Class C pallets and remove them from circulation. These pallets often have safety-related defects such as missing or broken boards or no EPAL marking, and thus pose a risk to process safety. Automated inspection increases process safety, reduces manual inspection efforts, and also contributes significantly to greater efficiency throughout the entire supply chain.

From measurement to added value – logistics automation reimagined

AKL-tec also presents additional solutions for efficient logistics automation. The focus is on systems for precise volume and weight measurement, which enable reliable and transparent master data collection. The data obtained can be seamlessly integrated into existing IT, ERP, and warehouse management systems, thus forming the basis for consistent, digitally controlled logistics processes.
The solutions cover a wide range of applications – from ergonomic workstation systems for manual measurements to stationary, fully automated systems with integrated measurement, weighing, photo, and geometry data collection. Companies benefit from better utilization of their storage space, optimized packaging and shipping processes, fewer empty shipments, and reduced material usage.
In addition, AKL-tec showcases compact, space-saving systems for storage and shipping areas with limited space. These deliver reliable dimensional data in real time and support end-to-end automation along the entire material flow.

AI that works: AKL-tec provides exclusive insights into automated freight measurement

“We are not only showcasing our logistics optimization products, but also our expertise in the field of AI and deep learning,” explains Managing Director Rüdiger Elben, adding that these technologies have been used in AKL-tec solutions for some time now to make processes more efficient and secure. The AKL-tec managing director will also give a presentation on this topic on the last day of the trade fair: Starting at 12:30 p.m., interested parties can gain insights into automated freight measurement and learn about AI-supported solutions for optimizing logistics processes in Hall 4 in the South Forum.
